Subject: Miss-mating of connectors

Question:

It is very common to use modular connectors (e.g. RJ-11, RJ-12, RJ-45), accessible to the users, for a variety of transmission functions, both telecommunication and data.

Unfortunately, RJ-11 modular connectors easily mate with other configurations of modular connectors: RJ-12, RJ-45. This sub-clause permits marking only for connectors accessible to Service Personnel and, on the other hand, relying on configuration as a means of preventing miss-mating is unrealistic.

How shall these connectors be tested?

Decision:

If there is a possibility of miss-mating of modular connectors (e.g. RJ-11, RJ-12 etc.) accessible for the user, tests have to be made to verify that the SELV limits remain.

If the voltage of the TNV-circuit is known this value is used, otherwise the test generator of 6.2.1.3 (Figure 15A) is used for testing.

问题：

不管是远程通信还是数据传输，一些具备传输功能的模块化连接器是很常见的，如RJ-11、RJ-12、RJ-45等用户可触及的连接器。

然而，RJ-11连接器很容易与其他连接器（如RJ-12、RJ-45等）混用。标准条款中只考虑了维护人员可触及的提示标记，另外依靠配置来保证不混用是不现实的。

该怎么测试这些连接器呢？

决定：

如果用户可触及的连接器存在混用可能，必须进行测试以保证具备SELV限制。如果TNV电路电压是已知的，则使用该电压。否则按6.2.1.3条（图15A）进行测试。
